STRICTLY COME DANCING 2019 continued this evening and saw each of the contestants battle it out for another shot at next week’s Blackpool episode. However, one person who struggled was Karim Zeroual as he took on the Viennese Waltz with partner Amy Dowden, and Claudia Winkleman was left embarrassed after his feedback.
Strictly Come Dancing 2019 was back for its eighth week of the competition, as the celebrities took to the floor with a range of dances, hoping to make it to the all important Blackpool episode next week. After his performance, Claudia Winkleman seemed to suggest that Karim Zeroual would be going home this weekend.
Last weekend saw Karim top the leaderboard with his Quickstep as he scored a massive 39 points.
This weekend, the pair were back for a more emotional routine, as they performed a Viennese Waltz to Give Me Love by Ed Sheehan.
Karim struggled tonight with his dance, and feel a few places on the leaderboard after the judges pointed out some “mistakes”.
As the judges delivered their thoughts on his performance, Craig told him: “You must be a bit disappointed… apart from the mistakes there was too much rise and fall.
“It needs to be smoother, you’re such a talented dancer and you have musicality and space… it’s just a shame tonight,” Craig continued.
Motsi reassured the presenter, telling him: “To be honest I was still impressed, you have beautiful… you know the way you move your arms.”
“For me, you’re still the one to beat in this competition, it’s the nerves… you have a great, great performance, just the nerves today.”
As the couple went back up to join their fellow contestants, Karim was in tears as he was disappointed with his performance.
He told host Claudia Winkleman: “I’m just gutted it went wrong.”
She quickly consoled him, telling him: “No, no! It happens, and you said to me earlier it was your least favourite dance.”
Karim was clearly emotional after his routine, as his partner Amy Dowden confessed: “You’re getting me upset now!”
As Claudia asked him why she was upset, Amy gushed about her partner.
“Because he’s upset and I’m so proud of him, it’s his birthday next week and more than anything I want him to experience the magic of Blackpool,” she told the host.
Karim explained the reason he was in tears, telling Claudia: “My biggest thing is doing a good performance…. I do want to get there, going wrong for me it’s just annoying and I’m gutted about that.
The judges gave their scores, and the pair received a respectable 30 points.
Claudia went back to Karim to ask: “Are you okay? You’ll also have Blackpool Rock, if you’re not there, we’ll bring some back… “
As Karim laughed nervously as she hinted he could be in trouble, she quickly added: “I don’t mean that.”
It comes after his appearance in It Takes Two Rylan pointed out the emotional song paired with their dance, he asked the pair if there had been tears, to which Karim replied: “Tears of frustration.”
Karim admitted that he had struggled with the routine this week, as he told Rylan that the Viennese Waltz was “tough” and that: “It doesn’t sink in as well as some of the other dances I’ve done.”
Will Karim manage to make it through to Blackpool as the couples are back tomorrow to find out their fate?
