Stranger Things season 4: Steve Harrington’s death sealed as fans spot worrying clue?

STRANGER THINGS showrunners recently confirmed the news that the show is green-lit for a fourth season. However, fans have long been convinced it is time for one of the main characters to die. Now, one fan thinks it will be Steve after spotting a worrying clue.

Stranger Things fans will remember the unlikely bromance that occurred between Steve Harrington (played by Joe Keery) and Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo). The duo played a key role in discovering the Russian base under Starcourt Mall together and fans watched as they grew closer throughout the season. However, one fan thinks showrunners are set to kill off Steve after letting fans watched their bond grow. Could they have been setting fans up for heartbreak all along?

Noting that Hopper (David Harbour) is suspected to be alive the fan reminded redditors that showrunners are yet to kill off a main character.

Last season saw the death of several Russian scientists, with the most significant character to die being Billy Hargrove (Darce Montgomery) who sacrificed himself in the Battle of Starcourt episode.

However, the fan suspects it’s Steve who is next.

Reddit user Bamonk wrote: “There’s a high chance they are going to kill off a main character in this season. Who do we think it’ll be?”

“Hopper isn’t dead and they are yet to kill off a main character.

“I think it’ll either be Eleven, Mike or Jonathan. I doubt they’ll put Will through it again and I think they’ll milk the Steve/Dustin bromance.

“What do you think?”

Could showrunners have built up the Steve and Dustin bromance all for it to shatter with Steve’s death next season?

Fans seemed to agree that Steve may be in danger next season.

However, many suspect the main Hawkins kids will be safe.

One fan commented: “I don’t think they’ll kill any of the main kids off, people will hate me for saying this but I wouldn’t say Steve is 100 percent safe.

“They do have a track record of killing great characters that we love, on the same note I’d say Robin could be the most likely to die, she’s one of the newest Characters and everyone loves her, the Duffers love to break our hearts.”

“Steve is at high risk I’d say,” added a second.

Meanwhile, some fans suspect “The American” in the post-credit Russian jail scene is not Hopper.

Reddit user Sergeantbusiness began by speculating the boring father of three Ted Wheeler (Joe Chrest) is a CIA agent who has been playing a role as an absent father all to keep his family at arms length from his operations.

Moreover, the user reminded fans how relaxed he was around other agents in season one when they came to bug the house.

The user said: “While Karen and Ted are at the fair together, Karen remarks that (Joyce and Hopper) ‘make an odd couple’, to which Ted rather tactlessly says: ‘There’s someone for everyone’, which annoys Karen, as she doesn’t really like Ted at all.

“I believe that after this, Karen and Ted had a brief argument, which ended with them splitting up and making their separate ways back to their house.”

The user speculated that the couple going their separate ways gave opportunity for the Russians to kidnap him.

“While walking off, the Russian agents at the fair kidnapped Ted, well aware of his real identity, and took him back to Russia, intending to use him as a bargaining chip: They will return Ted, if the Americans hand over Dr. Brenner: A man with unrivalled knowledge of the upside down, and how to access it.”

Could the Russians be using Ted to get to Dr. Brenner?
