POWER season 6 brought its midseason finale to quite the close as it looked like drug dealer James “Ghost” St Patrick could be dead after he was shot. But is Ghost after star Omari Hardwick seemed to drop a huge hint?

Power season six is on a midseason hiatus with fans desperate to know what happens next. The Starz show left things on a massive cliffhanger which hinted kingpin Ghost (played by Omari Hardwick) was dead. The gangster was shot at his New York nightclub Truth in the midseason finale as the instalment came to an abrupt end.

Is Ghost dead in Power?

Shortly before getting hit, several characters were seen packing heat with the insinuation they were planning to take down Ghost.

However, fans are going to have to wait until the New Year to find out who pulled the trigger.

Power showrunner Courtney Kemp has already confirmed the remaining five episodes of the final season will look at who was holding the gun when Ghost was shot.

She revealed she’d been inspired by Japanese movie Rashomon, which tells the story of a murder from the multiple perspectives of the suspects.

Power season 6: Is that the end of Power? Is Power over?

Power will be doing something similar with the key players and their motives for wanting Ghost six feet under.

One of the big suspects is Ghost’s ex-wife Tasha St Patrick (Naturi Naughton), who could have pulled the trigger.

Along with finding out who shot Ghost, fans want to know if he did die or if the character managed to survive.

Kemp told TV Line about the character’s fate: “He got shot. I didn’t see him die. Did you see him die?”

This isn’t the first time Kemp has used this line, she said something similar about the season five cliffhanger after Angela Valdes (Lela Loren) took a bullet for Ghost.

Power season 6 episode 10: Who shot Ghost?

Although Angela was in hospital and alive in the finale, she was confirmed to have died in the following episode.

Fans could get something similar with the season six finale and Ghost’s death confirmed in the next instalment.

The writer promised viewers would be getting answers, saying: “If you’re a fan of the show, you probably know how fast you’re going to find out certain aspects of things.

“I’ll say that the who and the how here are going to be as important as the what.”

Power season 6, episode 11 release date: When is Power back on?

Star Hardwick seemed to add further fuel to the fire after he posted a seemingly final Instagram post with his 3.4 million followers about Ghost.

Along with an image of Ghost with Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora), Hardwick said: “It is always your next move” -Napoleon Hill

“This rings true in every thing & every move we make in life…..or in fiction. Sometimes when the gift of which is given to the soul of a viewer or a listener is so definitive, lasting & powerful….the line between the 2 becomes blurred.

“Thank you Starz, producers, writers, directors, crew, teamsters & my beloved cast for trusting each other enough to aid majorly in this line being blurred. That is when programming shifts the culture. My belief is we accomplished that.

Power: Why did Lela Loren really leave Power on Starz?

“Thank you fans for entrusting me with the job of quarterbacking this team of bandits who scored in stealing your hearts week in/week out for 6 yrs. Thank you @50cent @courtneyakemp @markcanton @shinybootz #CarmiZlotnik for your gifts & for knowing i was that QB. #ChrisAlbrecht ..thank you for the process. @gary_lennon for the wisdom.

“Thank you Courtney as well for allowing me to select a fellow talented female in @shanasteinprod to be at the helm of 610. Shana thank you for your security, openness, trust, challenge, love, protection, ear & sight of ALL things me (in particular), but my talented cast mates as well. Never forgotten. @naturi4real @josephsikora4 @misslloren @lala @michaelraineyjr @shane_m_johnson @theonlyelizabethrodriguez @therealvictorgarber @realdonshea for game ONE on…

& ALL past & present teammates!”

He signed off the post cryptically saying: “& to EVERY family member, friend, colleague & most imperatively…FAN who finds themselves at an impasse between that ever present Real & Fiction right now of whether your ghOst has become just THAT…a ghost…And are in rage because of it….i overstand your emotion & if Ghost has taught you anything…..watch the company you keep & keep the company you watch.”

Hardwick’s words seem fairly definitive but he did seem to tease the could be alive – nevertheless, this seems like a vague hope and given this is the final run, it’s more likely the main character has been taken out.
