KSI branded Logan Paul’s trainer Shannon Briggs a “47-year-old kid” ahead of this Saturday’s rematch between the YouTube giants.
KSI takes on Logan Paul at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in a rematch of last year’s white collar boxing fight.
Their first bout ended in a draw, but now the duo have turned professional and will meet in the ring without headguards for the first time in either’s career.
KSI, real name Olajide Olatunji, has fought twice as an amateur, first against fellow YouTuber Joe Weller before facing Paul last year.
The Brit will be trained by professional fighter Viddal Riley, signed to Mayweather Promotions, who also trained him for the Weller and first Paul fights.
Paul, on the other hand, will be trained by former world heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs, a man who has elevated himself to viral fame in recent years due to his trademark catchphrase of “let’s go champ”.
And KSI said he wants to eradicate the former champion from the sport, and claimed Briggs will be unable to help Paul on the night.
“He’s an idiot, man,” KSI told Sky Sports after his public workout.
“He’s a 47-year-old kid, it’s crazy.
“I dunno, everyone finds him annoying, he’s always disturbing people.
“Look what he did to Wladimir Klitschko, even Andy Ruiz’s press conference he turned up there.
“He’s just a nuisance, he’s annoying.
“Hopefully, after this fight I can get rid of him for good.
“I can imagine that after I mess up Logan Paul I imagine he’ll gravitate towards Jake [Paul, Logan’s brother], and maybe shout ‘let’s go champ’ or something. It’s just annoying.
“I know he’s a good talker and he’s going to boost Logan up and say ‘yeah, you’re the greatest, you’re the best’, but as soon as he gets in the ring, Shannon can’t fight for him. That’s the ultimate thing.
“Once he realises I’ve levelled up tremendously, he’s going to panic. He’s going to look to Shannon for help and they’re gonna be like ‘let’s go champ, just keep boxing him, he’ll gas out soon’, I won’t gas out. Six rounds is nothing for me.”
