Kate Middleton children: How Princess Charlotte is the spitting image of THIS relative

Kate Middleton and Prince William’s only daughter Princess Charlotte has been compared to Princess Diana in the past. A recent throwback Instagram post of another family member shows Charlotte is a dead ringer for them too.

Princess Charlotte, four, delighted fans in September when she was photographed being dropped off for her first day at school. Kate, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William’s daughter is blonde and has often been compared to her maternal grandmother Princess Diana. Royal fans were sent into a spin following a recent post from one of Princess Diana’s relatives as the resemblance to Charlotte is uncanny.

Lady Kitty Spencer, 28, is a British fashion model and aristocrat.

She is Princess Diana’s niece and the eldest child of Diana’s brother, the 9th Earl Spencer.

Lady Kitty, too, is often compared to her aunt Diana as the resemblance is striking.

The gorgeous blond posted an adorable throwback snap of herself as a young girl on Instagram.

The picture of her on a pony sent royal fans into a spin as she was a dead ringer for Princess Charlotte as a youngster.

The sweet post was a nod to Kitty’s long-running passion for horses and riding.

The caption read: “Lexus Melbourne Cup here we come!! Channelling my inner jockey since 1992!”

While Kitty would have been around two-years-old in the picture which shows her in full riding attire, there is no denying the resemblance between her and Princess Charlotte.

Royal fans commented on the post to flag the royal link.

One Instagram user wrote: “Like Charlotte Cambridge.”

Another put: “You look exactly like Charlotte.”

And another: “Gosh you look exactly like Princess Charlotte here.”

The post which was published on Saturday has received more than 9,000 likes and has dozens of comments from gushing royal fans.

Lady Kitty’s title explained

As the eldest daughter of the 9th Earl Spencer, Lady Kitty is a member of the English gentry.

The way the English peerage system works daughters of Earl’s receive the title of Lady.

The five ranks of nobility within the English peerage system are Duke, Marquess, Earl, Viscount, and Baron.

If you are not a peer then you are technically a commoner, even if you have a royal title.

So before Prince Harry was given the title of Duke of Sussex when he married Meghan Markle, he was technically a commoner – according to the English peerage system.

Royal expert and author of Royal Musings, Marlene Koenig told Harpers Bazaar: “Royals who are not peers are legally commoners as well.

“Prince Harry was a commoner until [he was]created Duke of Sussex.

“In English law, the only people who are not commoners are the Sovereign and peers of the realm.”
