How Liverpool could line up with Kylian Mbappe if Reds beat Real Madrid to £215m transfer

Liverpool have been linked with a stunning move to bring Kylian Mbappe to Anfield from Paris Saint-Germain, but how could they line up with the World Cup winner?

Liverpool were linked with shock move to sign Kylian Mbappe earlier this week, despite reports regularly tipping the youngster to join Real Madrid, and Express Sport have taken a look at how Jurgen Klopp’s side could look with him included.

Spanish media outlet ElDesmarque reported earlier in the week that the Reds are interested in a possible £215million deal, as they attempt to strengthen their position as one of the best teams in Europe.

If that deal was to come to fruition, it could lead Los Blancos to take Mohamed Salah to Madrid, with president Florentino Perez monitoring the situation.

Paris Saint-Germain striker Mbappe has already won three Ligue 1 titles, the first coming with his former club Monaco, and could pick between Liverpool and Real as he hunts down an elusive Champions League winners medal.

Mbappe, 20, suggested before the current season that he wasn’t opposed to finding a new challenge, despite PSG having no intention of selling up.

“I think I’m reaching the first or second turning point in my career,” he said in May.

“Maybe it’s time to have more responsibility, which could be at PSG with great pleasure or maybe somewhere else with a new project.

“This was my fourth season in this league and I’ve had a lot of exciting experiences.

PSG sporting director Leonardo felt the need to come out and talk down the rumours linking Mbappe to the exit door at the Parc des Princes, shortly after Zidane acknowledged the forward’s ability.

“It’s annoying,” he said of Zidane’s claim that a move will be up to the player himself.

“This isn’t the time to speak about dreams and all of that. It has to stop.”

“Mbappe is very important for us and this isn’t the moment to destabilise him.”

Express Sport have now taken a look at how Liverpool might line up should Mbappe take Salah’s place in their team.

The Frenchman could slot into an all-star attacking trio alongside Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jordan Henderson would, in theory, be tasked with providing the ammunition along with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson.

Fabinho would likely retain his place in front of a central defensive pairing of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, with Alisson retaining his place in goal.
