GAME OF THRONES suffered a troublesome final season of its life, as many of the show’s dedicated fans were a little disappointed with how the final events of the story turned out. Since then, viewers have been digging through the scripts looking for easter eggs – and it seems like a brand new one involving Bran Stark warging has been discovered.
Game of Thrones season eight saw one of the most brutal battles it has ever displayed. Episode three, titled the Battle of Winterfell, saw hundreds of Northmen, Night’s Watch, and two dragons take on the undead in a brutal battle against the Night King (played by Vladimir Furdik).
While Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) lead the attack alongside her partner and relative Jon Snow (Kit Harington), it was Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) who landed the final blow.
Despite this, fans of the show were expecting Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) to play a huge part in the battle.
As he was the one the Night King was looking for, viewers believe he would whip out his warg powers to save some of his fighters from gruesome deaths.
Unfortunately this was not the case, as Bran only warged into a flock of ravens to look over the battle.
However it has now been revealed this was originally supposed to show off key parts of the battle to Bran.
The scripts, which have recently been made available for viewing at Writers Guild Foundation Shavelson-Webb Library in Los Angeles, reveal a lot was supposed to occur from these ravens.
During the script for episode three, it tells of Bran warging into the flock to get a handle on what is going on.
It read: “A massive flock of ravens, bigger than last time [season seven, episode five], converge on Winterfell from all sides, all piloted by Bran.”
This would apparently have allowed Bran to see where both Jon and Daenerys were during the battle.
Unfortunately, viewers only got half of this story, and never found out if Bran had something up his sleeve after surveying the battlefield as the ravens.
Meanwhile, since the end of the show, viewers have been figuring out exactly where Melisandre (Carice van Houten) went just before season eight.
Although it seemed like Melisandre disappeared between seasons, a Game of Thrones fan recently pointed out this could not be the case.
They wrote: “In season seven, she said she has important business in Volantis, but she will return to Westeros because she was destined to die there.
“I know they pretty much scrapped this, but what do you think they intended with that scene?”
Another fan went on to say: “The main Temple of the Lord of Light is in Volantis along with the High Priest of their order.
“One could assume she went back to confer with him on all she’s learned, learned some higher magic and then returned levelled up for the final battle.”
One viewer agreed: “Well first of all she ‘would be a distraction’ to Davos and Jon.
“I think she went to Volantis to gather strength and train for the battle at Winterfell.”
Despite this, fans will surely never truly know where she went after disappearing.
However it was a good job she took some time out to regroup her powers, as she was desperately needed in the Battle of Winterfell.
