England’s players could earn £225,000 each if they win the Rugby World Cup final today.

The Red Rose take on South Africa in Japan as they aim to win their second World Cup having previously lifted the trophy in 2003.

And The Telegraph reports that a prize fund of £7million has been made available for the England team.

Eddie Jones’ side will reportedly earn £225,000 each by lifting the Webb Ellis cup in Yokohama.

It will be a nice wedge in the back pocket if victory is secured with rugby not paying as much as other sports.

Captain Owen Farrell signed a bumper deal with Saracens in 2017 that still makes him one of the highest-paid players in world rugby.

Farrell stars for both England and Sarries, helping the side to two out of the last three European Champions Cups.

He signed a bumper contract to keep him at the until 2022 a couple of years ago.

The deal is believed to be worth just over £750,000 every season, with a total of £3.75m over the five years of the contract.

Maro Itoje reportedly became England’s highest-paid player earlier this year though with the star reportedly now earning £830,000 per year at Saracens.

Coach Jones is believed to be the highest paid Rugby World Cup coach as he takes home £750,000 per year, £300,000 more than Wales coach Warren Gatland.
