England fans demand Eddie Jones is sacked after Rugby World Cup loss to South Africa

England fans have called for head coach Eddie Jones to be sacked.

England missed out on winning the Rugby World Cup this morning and fans are calling for Eddie Jones to be axed.

The Red Rose were the favourites to win the final after knocking New Zealand out of the semi-finals.

But they gave away six penalties as they slipped to a 32-12 defeat in the International Stadium Yokohama.

And the England boss’ job may be on the line after failing to deliver their first World Cup in 16 years.

“Sack Eddie Jones,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“His problems in the entire 4 years has been discipline and it hasn’t improved on the biggest occasion. It’s a choke and he needs to go.”

While another added: “Bye bye Eddie Jones.

And a further user commented: “Cruel irony for Eddie Jones. The Wallabies scrum dissolved during his era, probably cost him his job.

“Now the scrum again appears like it will cost him dearly, this time a Rugby World Cup. @rugbyworldcup #RugbyWorldCupfinal.”

While one person wrote: “South Africa have been good but England tactics poor. Eddie Jones must go #RWCFinal.”

And another said: “Bottle jobs. Eddie Jones OUT.”

One other person commented: “Bottle jobs Eddie Jones get gone.”

Meanwhile, former England World Cup winner Matt Dawson was critical of the team’s tactics.

He said: “England have been done and dusted in the classroom and the training field. Ultimately they were put away by a South Africa team and management who looked like they were in positions England wanted to be before England were there.

“They weren’t one step ahead, they were two or three ahead.

“I was hoping somewhere, in the bowels of the England staff and management, they would have had those angles covered and that they would have expected something like that from South Africa, but it didn’t look that way.”
