Zaha update: Everton to bid £60m plus player; winger wants out

Wilfried Zaha wants a “new challenge” amid speculation surrounding his future at Crystal Palace, according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol.

The Evening Standard said on Thursday that Zaha is ‘tempted’ by interest from Everton with the Toffees showing an interest in him.

Everton want to ‘add a marquee name’ this summer and they ‘have identified’ Zaha as a possibility despite Arsenal still being Zaha’s ‘preferred destination’.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for Zaha but there are doubts that they can afford to bid anywhere near Palace’s reported £80m valuation, with Arsenal already having a bid of £40million rejected.

And now Solhekol has provided us all with an update on Twitter over a potential move to Everton.

“Everton in talks to sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace,” Solhekol tweeted. “Will make bid worth in region of £60m which includes player going to Palace from Everton. Zaha keen for new challenge.

“His preference is to stay in London but would consider move back to NW”

According to The Telegraph, the Toffees have approached Palace with a deal that would see Cenk Tosun head to Selhurst Park with a cheque for £60million in his washbag.

Everton are concerned that it won’t be enough. But Chelsea have come from nowhere to position themselves among the leading pack for Zaha.
