Manchester United supporters criticise MUTV for suggesting club should sign Luis Suarez

Some Manchester United supporters have criticised the club’s television channel MUTV after it was suggested that Luis Suarez should sign for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

The possibility of United signing the Barcelona striker was suggested on The Paddy Crerand Show.

In 2011, when Suarez was playing for Liverpool, the FA found the Uruguayan guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra, then of Manchester United, during a game at Old Trafford.

The possible departure of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan means that United would benefit from bringing in a striker.

However, it is clear that many United supporters certainly wouldn’t like to sign Suarez.

Crerand, who played for United between 1963 and 1971, suggested that signing Suarez would be a good idea, as did another ex-United player, David May. United legend Lou Macari was also on the programme.

One United fan tweeted: ‘You lads having a laugh? @LouMacari10 @DavidMay04 shocking.’

Another added: ‘MUTV pundits saying they’d ‘take’ Luis Suarez. They’ve lost the plot.’

In addition, another wrote: ‘This is wrong. Where are the ethics. Suarez shouldn’t be mentioned at all on MUTV after his racist remarks to one of our own. Such a shame

‘The man who racial abused evra …that show is an embarrassment no wonder the glazers are still here’.
