A woman has escaped her abusive husband after passing a note to a Domino’s Pizza employee telling them she was being held against her will.
The cashier then passed the message onto police in Anthony, Texas, and they were dispatched to the woman’s home in Chamberino, New Mexico.
There, they found her ‘bound, gagged and beaten inside a room’, Police Chief Carlos Enriquez said.
A man, Roberto Dominguez, 22, was arrested by police on domestic violence charges and will also face a kidnapping charge in El Paso County.
The unnamed woman, 32, had been allowed by her husband to go into the Domino’s branch to pick up a pizza order made earlier that day.
She then slipped the cashier a note which stated she was being held captive and gave her address, more than eight miles away.
When police arrived at the property in the early hours of July 23, the woman was crying and thankful of the officers, Enriquez said.
It is not yet known how long she had been held against her will, he added.
Enriquez continued: ‘The officers didn’t take [the note]as a joke and investigated it fully and because of their due diligence were able to rescue the woman and get her out of harm’s way.’
