Why did Greg O’Shea leave the Love Island villa?

Popular Islander Amber Gill’s new man Greg O’Shea has been absent from the Love Island villa.

Things have been going well for Gramber since they sealed their budding romance with a kiss and Michael’s out of the picture.

Since his arrival on the Island, Greg has won the hearts of viewers as well, with the rugby-playing law graduate now among the favourites to win the whole show and the £50,000 prize that goes with it.

So what could have caused him to leave the villa?

Greg temporarily left the Love Island villa to go back home to Dublin and attend his grandmother’s funeral.

The 24-year-old sportsman flew back to Ireland on Monday, before he returned to Mallorca later that same night.

His dad Niall O’Shea told Limerick Live 95: ‘Greg is a very good family man and his mother wanted to make sure he was there because himself and his Nan got on well.’

A spokesperson for Love Island said: ‘Owing to a bereavement, at the wishes of his family, Greg was away from the villa for a day to attend a funeral.

‘Everyone at Love Island extends their sympathies to Greg and his family and we have since welcomed him back to the villa.’

According to The Irish Sun, Greg’s grandmother, Monica Ho (née Finlay) from Raheen, Limerick, ‘passed away peacefully on 19th July 2019, in the care of Talbot Lodge Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family.’
