Susan Boyle is reportedly being replaced on Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions by 2011 winner Jai MacDowall.
SuBo’s place on the BGT spin-off series had been in jeopardy due to her packed schedule, so bosses chose to recruit another contestant, sources claimed.
Scottish singer Jai, 33, was apparently brought in by producers after successfully auditioning against 2014 finalist Lucy Kay, 30.
‘They didn’t want to be short of contestants and SuBo was looking unlikely to confirm her appearance,’ a source told The Sun.
‘Jai was ecstatic and will be putting his heart into the show, in the hope of making it right to the end.’
Susan, who has sold more than 20 million albums since appearing on Britain’s Got Talent a decade ago, has a packed touring schedule due to her success.
There had been whispers earlier this week that Susan and dance group Diversity might not be able to appear on the all-stars series.
‘Everyone would love for Susan and Diversity to take part,’ a source told Metro.co.uk on Monday.
‘They are both huge stars and the producers understand Susan and Diversity have commitments.
‘It’s a testament to the success of BGT that both have become so massive and everyone wishes them all the best on their upcoming performances and tours.
Ant and Dec announced Susan’s involvement during the latest Britain’s Got Talent finale, which eventually saw war veteran Colin Thackery take home the £250,000 prize fund.
Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions sees the most notorious acts from the past 12 years go head-to-head, following the success of America’s Got Talent: The Champions.
