One Tree Hill left our television screens seven years ago and fans are still hankering for a reboot, but it looks like a revival is far from viable.
Cast members Bethany Joy Lenz and Jana Kramer, who played Haley James Scott and Alex Dupry in the hit series, talked about the show on a recent podcast episode of Whine Down With Jana Kramer and recalled a very ‘divisive’ backstage atmosphere.
‘It was hard for us because I felt like when we came on the show, just being so honest, it was a very divided set,’ Jana told Bethany.
‘I feel like everyone already had their places and it was either, “Are you going to be in the A team or the B team?” It was just tricky.’
The 35-year-old actress also noted that disgraced showrunner Mark Schwahn, who was accused of sexual harassment by members of the One Tree Hill cast in 2017, ‘created that environment.’
‘The problem is the creator of the show, on any incarnation of the show,’ Jana added. ‘That’s a big issue. And, I think that would be the big thing standing in the way.
‘Unless he was willing to donate it all or something.’
Agreeing with Jana’s comments, Bethany added: ‘It would be great to go back and not have it feel like it was divided in any way or when we were going through a rough patch.’
Although a One Tree Hill reboot looks way off the cards, two cast members are reuniting for a new Christmas TV movie. Swings and roundabouts, right?
Riverdale star Chad Michael Murray is teaming up with Torrey Devitto for Hallmark film Five Cards For Christmas.
Production on the movie, which also stars Lolita Davidovich and Grant Show, began in April according to Entertainment Tonight.
The film has a rather familiar storyline though, as recently single Jessica – played by DeVitto – sends five Christmas cards to people who have impacted her life.
