A confused person who clearly needs to organize their cell phone contacts accidentally texted a police officer about getting high.
An officer at the Winfield, Missouri Police department got a text Friday inviting him to a baseball game.
The initial message said: ‘Hey, would you like to go to the game tonight it won’t you free hot dog & soda.’
It is unclear what the sender meant about the free hot dog and soft drink, but the officer quickly responded that he thought the person had the wrong number.
The texter persisted however and said: ‘No I don’t we went to the game together.’
When the officer asks what game the person is talking about, they respond: ‘With Shari & Diana we got high together girl…Get dressed & I will pick you up’
Minutes later, the officer sends a photo of himself and his badge, saying: ‘Pretty sure we didn’t get high together.’
The mysterious texter stops responding, but the officer pokes fun at her and says: ‘Are you still going to pick me up for the game though….I was really looking forward to going to the game,’ with three sad-faced emojis.
‘Wrong number,’ the texter replies.
The cop writes: ‘I tried to tell you that but nnnooo I don’t know what I’m talking about.’
‘You can stop,’ the person says, ending the conversation with a tiny stop sign.
The Winfield, Missouri Police Department later posted the exchange on their Facebook page.
It has since been shared more than 5,000 times as people applauded the officer’s response to the clueless texter.
