Man Utd team news: Predicted 4-2-3-1 line-up to face Tottenham

MANCHESTER UNITED take on Tottenham in the International Champions Cup this afternoon – here’s how they could line up.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been imperious in pre-season so far, beating Perth Glory, Leeds and Inter Milan.

The Norwegian has been experimenting with his line-up, giving plenty of minutes to youngsters such as Mason Greenwood and Axel Tuanzebe.

New signings Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James have also impressed down the right-hand side and they’ll enjoy their first test against Premier League opposition when they face Spurs.

And with the season getting underway in just over two weeks, Solskjaer is expected to name a strong side.

David De Gea has agreed a new deal at Old Trafford and he’ll be hoping to put a disappointing campaign behind him.

He could be playing behind Harry Maguire soon but for now the centre-back pairing will likely be Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof, although Tuanzebe will expect to see some action off the bench.

Wan-Bissaka will continue at right-back, with Luke Shaw on the opposite flank.

United are keen to add to their midfield but despite links with Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, they’re yet to bring any depth in.

“Solskjaer is expected to name a strong side.”

Scott McTominay will shield the defence, allowing Paul Pogba to create from deep.

The Frenchman continues to be linked with a move to Real Madrid but the deal could hinge on Gareth Bale leaving the Spanish side.

James has started all three of United’s pre-season games and he’ll be part of a lightning fast United frontline.

Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood could make up the rest of the attack.

The versatile trio will likely alternate positions, linking up with Pogba and using their pace to get in behind.

Greenwood has scored twice in pre-season so far and he looks set to be part of Solskjaer’s plans for the upcoming campaign.

The clash in China kicks off at 12.30pm.

Predicted United line-up: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Bailly, Lindelof, Shaw; McTominay, Pogba; James, Lingard, Greenwood; Rashford
