GEORGE Michael’s ex-boyfriend Fadi Fawaz has been arrested after allegedly causing “extensive damage” to the late pop legend’s mansion.
Cops rushed to the north London property last night after neighbours reportedly saw topless Fadi, 46, standing on the roof.
He was then arrested on suspicion of aggravated criminal damage.
The Metropolitan Police said in a statement: “Police were called on Tuesday, July 23 at around 7pm to a report of a man seen on the roof of an address.
“Officers attended and the man was no longer on the roof but inside the address, which had extensive damage.
“Due to the damage inside the property the London Fire Brigade attended.
“The man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated criminal damage. He has been taken into custody at a north London police station.”
Fadi has been living in the mansion for the past three years since George passed away on Christmas Day in 2016.
One neighbour told The Sun: “Every fixture and fitting, every door and window, everything George left in there – it’s all completely destroyed.
“Even the toilets and sinks have been smashed. There’s major damage to the walls and even the ceilings.”
He has become a recluse since George’s death and only ventures out at night, according to a source.
They told the Daily Star: “Fadi has always kept odd hours – coming and going throughout the night – but he’s become even more erratic recently. It’s like he’s turning nocturnal, like a vampire. We see him even less now than before.
“He seems to spend a lot of time holed up in that house by himself and listening to music with the windows open.”
He was not included in George’s £98million will and lawyers have written letters asking him to leave the property in Regent’s Park.
