Fast and Furious star Jason Statham reveals heartbreak for stuntman pal who fell on set

FAST And The Furious star Jason Statham yesterday spoke of his anguish after his stunt pal fell 30ft on the set of his latest movie.

Joe Watts is in an induced coma with serious head injuries.

Jason, 51, said: “It’s a very, very concerning thing when someone gets hurt. The families have to endure that.

“It’s absolutely awful news, and we just wish him the best.”

Joe fell while filming Fast & Furious 9 at Warner Bros Studios in Leavesden, Herts, on Monday.

He was flown to The Royal London Hospital where fiancée Tilly Powell is at his bedside.

Jason, speaking at the London premiere of the Fast & Furious spin-off Hobbs & Shaw, added: “Stuntmen have always been my firm favourite on any movie set. I’m more at home in their company than any other department.

“These are my close pals. They are really the unsung heroes.”

And the star explained: “They are the ones that put themselves in harm’s way to make other people look good.”
