MANCHESTER CITY beat West Ham 3-0 in Saturday’s opening Premier League clash – but fans were distracted by one moment involving referee Mike Dean.
Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring midway through the first half as City ran riot at the London Stadium.
Raheem Sterling grabbed a second half hat-trick – the Sky Blues looking just as formidable as they did last term.
However, it wasn’t just Pep Guardiola’s men’s dominance that everyone was chatting about during the match.
Fans always look out for who is refereeing their match at the weekend.
And many can’t help but smile when they see that experienced official Mike Dean will be in charge.
The 51-year-old has built somewhat of a cult following during his 19 years as a Premier League referee.
And he had fans in stitches again just a few minutes into the clash, pulling off a nutmeg to avoid interfering with play.
Dean’s quick-thinking allowed City to continue in their attack, with many joking that he was their newest recruit.

Dean had his work cut out all match and regularly used VAR, with the video referee both giving and ruling out a goal for City.
