A WOMAN has been found dead in the back of a vehicle in a car park near a primary school.
Police officers were called to the scene of a car park in Hyndburn, Lancashire after receiving reports of a body in the back of a car.
Emergency services including two police vehicles and an ambulance arrived at the car park on Bradshaw Street in Chruch at around 7.50am.
Police cordoned off the scene following the discovery near to Sacred Heart Primary School and a forensics tent was put up around the car.
It is unclear how long the woman had been in the car before her body was discovered.
At the time, Lancashire Constabulary said: “We were called shortly before 9am this morning (July 26) to reports that a body had been found inside the back of a car in a car park on Bradshaw Street in Church.
“The body remains in situ at this time whilst officers undertake their inquiries.”
The woman’s body has now been identified and the death is being treated as ‘not suspicious’ by police.
A police spokesman said: “We can confirm that her death is not being treated as suspicious.
“A file is being prepared for HM coroner.
“We would like to thank the public for their support and our thoughts remain with the woman’s family who have been informed.”
