TV presenter Pat O’Mahony, a music lover from Head 2 Toe is looking for love in the First Dates restaurant tonight.
You might recognise Pat from his work a variety of BBC TV programmes and RTÉ radio programmes in the 1990’s and early 2000’s.
Most famously, Pat presented Head 2 Toe, a series that ran for nine series on RTÉ One between 1988 and 1997 with an original line-up of Marty Whelan, Mary O’Sullivan and Frances Duff.
When Gemma from Sandymount last entered the restaurant her blind date turned out to be a guy she had dated before. Awkward. Tonight, she’s back and looking for a proper ‘first date’ with music aficionado Pat.
By the looks of things, this date is hitting all the right notes as Pat serenades Gemma with The Smith – watch the video above.
Elsewhere in the First Dates Restaurant…
Cousins Darragh and Alan are on a double blind date. While Darragh’s date, Essex girl Emma, is delighted to find a doctor who can cook, lifeguard Jane is over the moon to discover Alan’s love of Harry Potter. Cute!
Before setting foot inside the restaurant, primary teacher Tom was already catching the eye of his date – former boyband member Dean, while on the Luas on his way to their date!
Are the First Date match makers good or are they good?
Meanwhile, actor and Oscar Wilde enthusiast Patrick opens up to entrepreneur Valerie… perhaps a little too much.
Lesson #1: Sometimes less is more on a first date. For example, you really don’t have to tell your dinner partner about being catfished on dating websites or even your interest in younger women! Check out the video above.
Watch First Dates Ireland on RTÉ2 every Tuesday at 9.30pm or catch up on RTÉ Player.
