An Idaho junior high science teacher is under investigation after allegedly feeding a puppy to a snapping turtle, local media reports.
According to students present at the feeding, 7th-grade teacher Robert Crosland fed the snapping turtle a sick and deformed puppy during after-school hours.
In a statement to EastIdahoNews, the Preston district’s superintendent said he was aware of the “regrettable circumstance involving some of the biological specimens,” but as of yet, detailed no actions against Crosland.

A local animal activist filed a police report with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office who said they were looking into the incident, according to Fox 13.
“Allowing children to watch an innocent baby puppy scream because it is being fed to an animal,” the activist, Jill Parrish, told Fox 13. “That is violence. That is not okay.”
